Gordon Ramsay: 16 stars ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

Of the Michelin stars winners, Ramsay is one of the best known around the world thanks to his participation in the “Kitchen Nightmares” program, which made him one of the most loved and hated faces by the viewers around the world.

In his teenage years he didn’t imagine being a cook, his dream was to be a football player, but an injury in his leg removed him definitely from this world. At the age of 19 he decided to start studying at the North Oxfordshire Polytechnic, where he graduated as a Hotel Administrator.

His first job was as a chef’s assistant at the Roxburghe House Hotel. Rossmore (later renamed Aubergine), was the first restaurant where he had participation as a partner and Chef with Marco Pierre White, where he received his first Michelin star.

The first restaurant that opened with his name was the Gordon Ramsay at Royal Hospital Road, with which he reached the much desired 3 Michelin stars. Throughout his career and in his many restaurants around the world he has managed to reach a total of 16 stars, being the only Scottish cook to achieve this.

This French chef has left a great mark in the culinary world; unlike many other chefs, he clarifies that the stars and recognitions throughout his career comes not only from the personal effort, but from the hard work of the different teams that he runs.

He started officially in the kitchen at age 16, learning about dishes of Provençal and Mediterranean food. His teacher and spiritual guide has been Alain Chapel, recognized French chef with 3 Michelin stars.

In 1984 he led the kitchen of La Terrasse, restaurant of the Hotel Juana where he obtained 2 stars. But it would be the Hotel de Paris de Monte Carlo that would open the doors to the world and where he would be recognized with 3 Michelin stars for being in front of the kitchen; it was the first time that the restaurant of a hotel obtained this type of recognition.

Today he owns 19 Michelin stars and is one of the chefs with more upscale restaurants under his command.

This chef is also French and is listed as one of the great masters of the current cuisine. He is the leader of several kitchens around the world from Bangkok, Budeos, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, London, Macau, Monaco, Paris, Singapure, Taipei, to Tokyo.

He began his cooking experience at the age of 15; he was an enterprising and avid young man. He was apprenticed to the chef of the Relais of Poitiers hotel. He traveled all over France learning techniques, recognizing flavors and learning everything that would later turn him into a kitchen legend.

In 1990 he was cataloged “Cook of the Century” by the guide Gault Millau. The Nikko Hotel was the home to receive the first two Michelin stars of his career.

The last of his kitchens is in Bordeaux; it’s called La Grande Maison. Its ingredients of high quality and precision kitchen characterizes Robuchon, from 100 euros the cover. This is the chef who has added more stars to his particular constellation, and continues the work to keep adding more.
